Review Process

Jurnal Studi Hukum Pidana is a scientific publication, meaning that the only scientific value is the accepted, unpublished manuscript. The review process involves the author, editor, section editor, and reviewer. The editor first checks each submitted manuscript to ensure it meets the focus and scope, the guidelines for authors, and a similarity check (must be below 20% in total).

Manuscripts are forwarded to reviewers for content review. If not, the manuscript will be returned to the author if it does not meet the above criteria. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two reviewers (double-blind review), expected within 20-60 days.

The editor will decide on the acceptance of the article based on the reviewers' comments. Articles sent back to the author for revision must be returned to the editor promptly. Revised articles returned more than 20 days later will be considered new submissions. Revised articles can be submitted to the editor through the Online Submission Interface.

Review Process:

1. The editor receives the manuscript from the author;
2. The editor evaluates the manuscript (focus and scope of the journal, internal writing style, additional data); (rejected if it doesn't meet the criteria)
3. The editor conducts a plagiarism screening using offline and online databases (Turnitin); (rejected if major plagiarism is found, and the author is contacted for clarification if redundancy or minor plagiarism is found)
4. The editor sends the manuscript to the reviewers along with a review form (double-blind review, where reviewers and authors remain anonymous);
5. The reviewers return their review form to the editor (with a revised manuscript if necessary);
6. The editor's decision (rejected, requires major revision, requires minor revision, or accepted);
7. Confirmation to the author.
8. If there are revisions, the author revises the manuscript and it must be returned to the editor immediately.
9. Manuscripts returned more than three months later will be considered new submissions.
